However, even if you don't plan on using an iPod w/ this unit there are still some MAJOR SHORTCOMINGS. 1.NO BASS or TREBLE SETTINGS! Yes it has all these preset crossovers, imaging, BBE etc., BUT NO ABILITY TO DIRECTLY ADJUST BASS/TREBLE! 2.Constantly displays ANNOYING ANIMATED GRAPHICS which are the same color as the screen text! You can't stop the animation! 3. There's only one face angle not multiple. It's either normal or almost flat. No in between. 4.1/3 of the screen's display shows the source and the clock (whether you like it or not).Now iPod related issues (keep in mind I'm using the iPac "DIRECT" interface): 5. NO Shuffle or Repeat functions as these buttons are used for search settings. 6. Easy to use and good looking. The display is twice the clarity I've had from Alpine or Kenwood. But then again Sony is known for their displays and video products. The sound quality is awesome and I consider it a hugh bang for the buck. The ITA and the HDEQ does wonders for the sound stage. WOW! I can independently adjust each speaker position so that the sound waves arrive all at the same time from each speaker to my ear. Also, you can adjust the equalizer for each speaker for many frequencies +/- 6 dB. DSO 3d is another cool feature that I enjoy fiddling with (you can adjust height, width, and depth). I cannot say enough about this head unit. |
