It's very powerful and sounds great. The USB connection on the unit is extremely useful and allows me to charge portable devices such as my phone and my iPod while I'm driving. The only issues I have are that there is no dedicated off button, you must hold down source to turn it off. This makes it inconvenient in some situations when I need to turn the sound off fast. With the right speakers the sound is good and I have good reception on my radio (I don't know what the others are talking about, unless they forgot to hook up the antenna). The only problem I see is the display is always jumping around (sometimes all I want to see is the time). The FM reception is, IMHO, less sensitive than the original truck radio. Important, as I live in a super fringe area. CD playback is stellar, as is the list of options for the unit. BUT, why does Sony figure nobody would wish to view BOTH the station playing AND the time of day simultaneously?? Same goes for track/selection playing AND the clock. The technology to enable this couldn't be that expensive; after all, they included the mostly usless three bar sound mixer display !!These shortcomings cause me to give it three atta-boys. |
